08/26/2008 Mileage Costs of Plug-in Hybrids
12:00 AM I continue to read with optimism the PHEV (plug-in hybrid vehicle) concept, especially the Chevy Volt. TESLA also put out a paper a while back (July, 2006) regarding its entry. Since I don't have any idea how many "miles per kWh" it takes, I can't make the calculation...and I've looked at BTU and megajoule equivalents and I now have a headache. -- Art F., Dallas, TX
08/26/2008 Renewable Energy Collectors May Be Right Under Our Feet

Through asphalt, the researchers are developing a solar collector that could turn roads and parking lots into ubiquitous -- and inexpensive -- sources of electricity and hot water.
