Warranty Policy

Our limited warranty is limited to solar-powered generator products and accessories distributed by North Star Energy Services, Inc., 623 MiraBay Blvd, Apollo Beach, FL, USA, or an authorized North Star Energy Services, Inc. dealer.

Length of Warranty

Generally, our products are covered by a limited warranty period of one (1) year from the date of original retail purchase.  Please refer to the Limited Warranty document that accompanied your product for specific warranty periods, or contact us via email and we can provide the warranty period for you.


To Qualify for This Warranty

The product must be purchased in the United States, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, or Canada from North Star Energy Services, Inc. or a dealer authorized by North Star Energy Services, Inc. to sell our products. This warranty applies to the original retail purchaser and is transferable to subsequent owners, but only for the non-expired portion of the warranty period. A dated proof of purchase must be available from the original purchaser, or any subsequent owner, to make warranty claims.

What North Star Energy Services Will Repair or Replace Under Warranty

North Star Energy Services will repair or replace, at its option, any part that is proven to be defective in material or workmanship under normal use during the applicable warranty time period. Warranty repairs and replacements will be made without charge for parts or labor. North Star Energy Services, Inc. reserves the right to use parts or products of original or improved design in the repair or replacement. Anything replaced under warranty becomes the property of North Star Energy Services, Inc. All parts replaced under warranty will be considered as part of the original product and any warranty on those parts will expire coincident with the original product warranty.

What Our Limited Warranty Does Not Cover

This Limited Warranty does not cover normal wear and tear of the product or costs related to the removal, installation, or troubleshooting of the customer's electrical systems. This warranty does not apply to and North Star Energy Services, Inc. will not be responsible for any defect in or damage to:

  • the product if it has been misused, neglected, improperly installed, physically damaged or altered, either internally or externally, or damaged from improper use or use in an unsuitable environment;
  • the product if it has been subjected to fire, water, generalized corrosion, biological infestations, or input voltage that creates operating conditions beyond the maximum or minimum limits listed in the North Star Energy Systems, Inc. product specifications including high input voltage from generators and lightning strikes;
  • the product if repairs have been done to it other than by North Star Energy Services;
  • the product if it is used as a component part of a product expressly warranted by another manufacturer;
  • the product if its original identification (trade-mark, serial number) markings have been defaced, altered, or removed.

To Obtain Warranty Service

You must take or ship the North Star Energy Services, Inc. product, accessory, replacement part, or the power equipment on which the accessory or replacement part is installed, and proof of purchase, at your expense, to North Star Energy Services headquarters. You are responsible for all transport and shipping costs and expenses associated with delivering the product to North Star Energy Services, Inc. for warranty service.

Exclusions

This warranty does not extend to parts affected or damaged by accident and/or collision, normal wear, contamination, use in an application for which the product was not designed or any other misuse, neglect, incorporation or use of unsuitable attachments or parts, unauthorized alteration, or any causes other than defects in material or workmanship of the product.


Disclaimer of Consequential Damage and Limitation of Implied Warranties

NORTH STAR ENERGY SERVICES DISCLAIMS ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR LOSS OF TIME OR USE OF THE PRODUCT, TRANSPORTATION, COMMERCIAL LOSS, OR ANY OTHER INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGE. ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES ARE LIMITED TO THE DURATION OF THIS WRITTEN LIMITED WARRANTY. Some states and provinces do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts and/or do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above exclusions and limitations may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state or province to province.

Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, unless specifically agreed to by it in writing, North Star Energy Services, Inc.:

  1. makes no warranty as to the accuracy, sufficiency or suitability of any technical or other information provided in manuals or other documentation provided by it in connection with the product; and
  2. assumes no responsibility or liability for losses, damages, costs or expenses, whether special, direct, indirect, consequential or incidental, which might arise out of the use of such information.

Warning: Limitations on Use

Please refer to your product manual for limitations on the uses of the product.

SPECIFICALLY, PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS PRODUCT SHOULD NOT BE USED IN CONNECTION WITH LIFE SUPPORT SYSTEMS OR OTHER MEDICAL EQUIPMENT OR DEVICES. WITHOUT LIMITING THE GENERALITY OF THE FOREGOING, NORTH STAR ENERGY SERVICES, INC. MAKES NO REPRESENTATIONS OR WARRANTIES REGARDING THE USE OF THIS PRODUCT IN CONNECTION WITH LIFE SUPPORT OR OTHER MEDICAL EQUIPMENT OR DEVICES.
